COMMUNIST PARTY OF MEXICO: FREEDOM FOR ALL POLITICAL PRISONERS OF PERÚ, RESPECT FOR THE FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT OF CHAIRMAN GONZALO’S LIFE

FREEDOM FOR ALL POLITICAL PRISONERS OF PERÚ, RESPECT FOR THE FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT OF CHAIRMAN GONZALO'S LIFE.

We denounce that in Perú, the political prisoner Abimael Guzmán Reinoso (Chairman Gonzalo) is seriously ill. A strong stomach infection that could have been cured by providing the required medical care, has him prostrated and facing serious risk. The real cause is that he has never been allowed to be treated in a hospital or to receive the necessary attention in the cell of the Naval Base of Callao, illegally converted into a centre for imprisonment and torture for war prisoners with the restriction of all their rights. They are subject to the general anti-terrorist exception law and, as such, he and other war and political prisoners are denied the benefits of the law, new charges are imposed on them, and condemnatory trials are reinitiated, now completely new accusations are being fabricated: drug trafficking, kidnapping and crimes against humanity. They are sentenced to life imprisonment - ineffective at the time of the offenses - and in order to “legally” prevent the release of those who have already served their maximum sentence. In the specific case of Chairman Gonzalo, absolute and perpetual isolation is enforced, a 23 of the 24 hours a day seclusion in a separate cell, denial of conjugal visit, police searches and raids and, at present, the denial of medical care that is the denial of the right to health and even life, thus applying a policy of extermination against the communists as part of their general counter-revolutionary offensive.

The State punishes those who in the 1980s led a revolutionary war in Perú against the exploitation and oppression, of a semi-feudal, semi-colonial system, and of bureaucratic capitalism that kept the immense majority of Peruvians living in hunger and misery, postponement and backwardness, particularly the poor peasantry. Thus denying the universal principle that sovereignty lies essentially in the people, who have the right to change the oppressive economic and political system.

Once the war was concluded, 25 years ago, Chairman Gonzalo proposed to hold talks aiming at the signing of peace agreements, which were denied; today the Communist Party of Perú is fighting for general amnesty and national reconciliation. The State has responded by applying procedural laws and exceptional procedures, in addition to other denials of rights. In the political realm, former political prisoners are subjected to trials, under false sanctions, such as persecution and civil death. And recently, they are even criminalising the universal right to provide dignified burial to their loved ones who were assassinated, and the fact of burying the remains of massacred prisoners, denying their relatives the right to honour and bury their dead.

All this regime of exception is the criminal justice of open dictatorships that also governs in the apparent or fake democracies, evidencing the crisis of the capitalist system and of bourgeois democracy.

Trump´s arrival to the presidency of the United States is not an accident; it is the result of the putrefaction of this system: imperialism, capitalism's highest and last phase in an utter process of decomposition and death, which does not engender democracy, engenders fascism. Trump, as well as Hitler and Mussolini, among others, are proof of this. In Perú, and in Mexico, we suffer governments servile towards that imperialism, and that explains their campaigns of hatred against the revolutionaries and against the right to be communists, as in the case of Mexico, the protracted war against the people, a counterrevolutionary war disguised as war against drug trafficking, ordered and subsidised by the imperialist gringos that has caused more than 300 thousand people assassinated and millions of displaced people and is one of the causes, along with the recurring economic crises, of the emigration of millions more.

We denounce and reject the attack against the health and life of our beloved and respected Chairman Gonzalo, great Marxist-Leninist-Maoist historical leader. We join the demand to allow his hospitalisation and urgent and adequate medical care. We reject the farcical trial against Peruvian citizens with false charges and rigged proceedings. We claim the right of relatives to bury their dead and pay homage to their sacrifice, caused by the murderous hordes of the State, and for the right of their relatives to do so. Respect for the life of Chairman Gonzalo and all the detainees and political prisoners who participated in the revolutionary war of Perú.

LONG LIVE CHAIRMAN GONZALO!

LONG LIVE THE INTERNATIONAL UNITY OF THE COMMUNIST PARTIES!

AGAINST THE POLITICS OF HATE, VENGEANCE AND PERSECUTION!

LONG LIVE THE WORLD PROLETARIAN REVOLUTION!
